Wow hello I just logged into Tumblr for the first time in forever. I haven’t really posted continuously since March, and it’s now October… but my notifications completely blew up! Hi everyone 💛 I kinda miss this place. Maybe I’ll come back and share photos from my road trip this summer. My boyfriend and I converted a van and lived in it for 3 months as we hit 11 states. We drove 10,000 miles and visited national and state parks along the way. Lots of beautiful places! As of now, we are posted up on the central coast of California. I left my Humboldt home for good in June. Very bittersweet being away from the redwoods and back in “society.” But it’s time to find a real job with my degree and that just isn’t possible up there! Life has been filled with intense ups and downs as of late as I make the transition from living the ultimate dream and floating from one place to another to trying to remember social norms and actually having to care about my appearance, make small talk again, worry about things like rent, etc. I’m trying to focus on the positives: I’m with my boyfriend in a brand new place to explore, I’m reunited with my cats again after months of not seeing them, I’m near my mom who missed me dearly after living 12 hours apart for 3 years, and this is my chance to find myself in a whole new way. To find my place in society, (hopefully) find my dream job, and help people learn and grow as I have tried to do. A lot of the jobs I’ve applied for are working with troubled youth or mentally/developmentally disabled children. So we shall see! I’m giving the universe full power to take me where I need to be. I will be receptive to any and all changes.

“The last days in August are always very special. A time where we need to let go of the illusion that only the warm sun can burn away our fears and dry our tears. As the first cool winds start blowing our way, sweeping rain across the land, we begin to realize that they too, have their reason for existence. They blow away all that’s not needed in our lives.”
