How did I get so lucky?
Goals for the next few months:
– please, for the love of god, LEARN SONGS TO PLAY ON THE PIANO. Don’t just imagine yourself doing it. It isn’t that hard I promise.
– don’t be so ashamed of who you are, mostly the things you do and say. You were born to be an individual and an amazing one at that. Not just a mirror that reflects to people the things you think they wish to see. Use your power.
– spend more time with empowering women.
– write write write!!!!! Maybe write a few short stories or a long one or who knows, who cares, just write.
– embrace your style and don’t be afraid to rock something because it feels a little ‘out there.’ If it speaks to you, it’s you. You don’t have to be restricted by the things you used to like or what you think you need to wear because you’re so used to being a plain Jane. Experiment. It’s okay to want to look beautiful and to know that you are. But also know that the majority of your beauty shines from within regardless of what you’re showing on the outside.
– take more trips, even if they’re only mini trips! Look at how much you grow and learn every time you do. The world is a beautiful place and if you stay in your comfort zone you’re only seeing a tiny fraction of it. Traveling makes you feel alive. Keep going with it.
– love fearlessly and unconditionally. Give this love to everyone you meet without feeling like you need to put up a wall – but most of all give this love to the people who have proven to you time and time again how much you matter to them. Make sure they know how much they matter to you, EVERY day.
– please try to eat a little cleaner, and keep on drinking that water. Sorry about all the bathroom trips but you’re making your body happy when you do.
– you love to read right? So what’s stopping you?! Read all the fucking unfinished books on your shelf!!!! No better time to do it than now.
– you aren’t in school anymore, so give yourself some homework that’s related to something that you love. Learn tarot, learn to knit, paint more, teach yourself more songs on the guitar, dedicate hours a week to finding new music that feeds your soul, learn how to cook delicious healthy meals. Practice makes perfect and you have all the time in the world right now to practice everything you’ve ever wanted to learn.
– stretch every single day.
– please make an effort to spend less time online. You know it’s pointless unless you’re using it to learn something. And the occasional binge-watching is okay when you find something you love but don’t use it as a coping mechanism anymore to fill in the minutes between the time you wake up to the time you sleep so that you can numb yourself to life.
– try to set aside an hour before bed to journal so you can sort out your thoughts and feelings. Maybe it will help improve your memory too.
– start doing positive affirmations again when you look in the mirror. You are beautiful, you are worthy of love, you ARE love, you are intelligent, you are capable. Relax and let go because everything is in perfect flow.
– make yourself and your sanity a priority. Making other people happy may make you feel good in the short term but when all that’s stripped away, who are YOU? Really try to figure that out.
– try to go on walks more often. Breathe in the fresh air, stop to smell the flowers, appreciate all the beauty around you, don’t be afraid of what the cars or people passing by think of you. Don’t let your anxiety stop you from doing simple things anymore. You are strong.
– start putting your energy, today, into something that will pay off tomorrow.

from the bottom of my heart, please know,
that i’d appreciate being slammed against a wall with your hand down my pants and your breath against my neck saying that I am yours and only yours
I cannot stand small talk, because I feel like there’s an elephant standing in the room shitting all over everything and nobody is saying anything. I’m just dying to say, “Hey, do you ever feel like jumping off a bridge?” or “Do you feel an emptiness inside your chest at night that is going to swallow you?” But you can’t say that at a cocktail party.
